Shaping growth in the Raukawa takiwā
Raukawa is moving early to influence planning in a new resource management system. Over time the iwi has collected information on the 500,000-hectare area. The database has now grown to include resource consent information, territorial authority and iwi boundaries, material from Heritage New Zealand and other central government agencies, and details on natural features including rivers and streams. In recent years, the iwi has begun using it to share stories and cultural knowledge. This short case study is part of our series exploring how organisations around New Zeaalnd are putting the National Infrastructure Plan into action.
