This full-day, in-person workshop is designed for public sector leaders who are new to the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) and Project Sponsor role, or transitioning into the role for the first time.
It provides a practical, peer-informed introduction to the SRO role, with a focus on what effective sponsorship and governance look like in practice - and how SROs can add value at key decision points across the infrastructure investment lifecycle.
This workshop will be delivered on a recurring basis once minimum registration numbers are reached.
The workshop focuses on:
- The role and responsibilities of the SRO / Project Sponsor
- Governance and oversight vs management
- Establishing and operating within an effective authorising environment
- Getting investment thinking right from the start
- Using assurance to support better decisions
- Being a better client of infrastructure delivery
- Monitoring progress and performance
The workshop combines expert facilitation, guest insights from experienced SROs, and peer discussion to support practical learning and shared reflection.
It also provides time and space for discussion and connection with peers who are navigating similar transitions into sponsorship and governance roles.
Attendance is $495 + GST per person.
