The Project director capability snapshot is a practical leadership tool for Infrastructure Project Directors. It provides a clear, evidence-based view of leadership capability, grounded in the realities of complex public infrastructure delivery.
Built on the Te Waihanga Project Director Capability Framework (PDCF), it supports focused development conversations, highlights strengths and growth areas, and builds consistency in how Project Director capability is understood across the system.
The Snapshot is a brief 180-style process completed by both the Project Director and a manager and/or SRO. Responses are combined into a personalised report that includes visual insights, narrative interpretation, and development suggestions aligned to our Project director capability framework.
The Project Director Capability Snapshot is currently being offered as part of a pilot. Participation can be self-nominated or agency-nominated. Agencies may also choose to put cohorts through the Snapshot to get a clearer view of capability across teams. Participation in the pilot is free.
Following the pilot, Te Waihanga will review and confirm future delivery and pricing arrangements.
Self-nominate or nominate a Project Director. Please include their name, role, and their agency. Contact us below or at leadership.capability@tewaihanga.govt.nz
