The Waianakarua River Road Bridge
The Waianakarua River Road Bridge is the oldest bridge in use on our State Highway network. When it was built the motor car had yet to be invented! The bridge has been widened but the original structure remains. This just shows that if we take care of the infrastructure we have, it can last a long time - even centuries.
