Planning for an uncertain future

The future is uncertain. While we can do our best to predict what will happen next month, next year, or fifty years from now, we can’t be sure what will actually happen.

In this podcast, Nadine Dodge, Senior Economist – Strategy at Te Waihanga speaks to Brad Singh, Manager of Transport and Infrastructure at Wellington City Council, to learn about how the transport team is dealing with uncertainty. Brad talked about many sources of uncertainty – from climate change to labour supply to aggregate availability – and what we can do in the face of uncertainty to plan for future generations.

Wherever you’ve got infrastructure, you’re always going to face uncertainty – people have faced it in the past and people will continue to face it in the future.
