New Zealand faces some big challenges. We can’t afford to build the infrastructure we need to solve them all. The Infrastructure Priorities Programme (IPP) is a way for us to identify the top infrastructure issues and solutions - so we can be sure we’re making the right decisions.

How is our infrastructure tracking?

See how we're tracking against New Zealand's first Infrastructure Strategy. Our monitoring report looks at the progress that's been made, as well as identifying areas where more effort is needed.

The strategy is the result of extensive research, analysis and public, iwi and stakeholder engagement. It incorporates feedback from more than 20,000 New Zealanders through our Aotearoa 2050 survey. We have used this research and engagement to understand New Zealand’s infrastructure sectors and the challenges and opportunities they face. The strategy responds to these challenges and includes 68 recommendations for change.
