The New Zealand Infrastructure Commission, Te Waihanga wishes to congratulate Blake Lepper, General Manager - Infrastructure Delivery on his appointment as Head of Infrastructure Delivery at Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand from February 2024.
Blake takes up this role following almost five years at Te Waihanga. Chief Executive Ross Copland says that over this time Blake has made a major contribution to infrastructure investment and delivery settings, drawing on his background in the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
“We’ve really benefited from Blake’s hands on experience across the project lifecycle, whether it’s in strategic planning, business case development, design management, procurement, or commissioning,” says Copland.
“We’re pleased he’ll be taking these skills and his experience to a critical part of our infrastructure system, helping set New Zealand up for success.”
At Te Waihanga, Lepper led projects including an independent review on the Christchurch Multi-Use Arena, navigating the contractual implications of COVID-19, and assuming governance roles on several projects including MPI’s Biocontainment Facility, New Dunedin Hospital and the Scott Base redevelopment. He played an integral part in the development of the New Zealand Infrastructure Strategy and led an Infrastructure Delivery team focused on advisory support to government and the sector.
Lepper says he is proud of what Te Waihanga has achieved and is looking forward to new opportunities at Te Whatu Ora.
“Health is an area where getting the right results from our infrastructure can dramatically improve the wellbeing of all New Zealanders. I’m thrilled I have the opportunity to use what I’ve learnt at Te Waihanga in such an important sector.”
