Webinar: Public agreement and community expectations of infrastructure

PUBLISHED 30 JUNE 2025

What do New Zealanders really want in the way of infrastructure? And are these needs being met? Getting what we need: Public agreement and community expectations around infrastructure takes a bottom-up, ‘preferences’ perspective, through interrogating a range of social research from the past decade that asks the public for their attitudes around infrastructure and its services. This knowledge, alongside understanding traditional infrastructure spending and likely future demands, can help decision-makers with their long-term infrastructure planning.

In this webinar, Jean Beetham, Senior Advisor, Economics and Research at Te Waihanga will explore this research.

Have your say on the draft National Infrastructure Plan

We have published a draft National Infrastructure Plan that sets out how we can address New Zealand’s infrastructure challenges. We are asking for feedback to see if we're on the right track.

There's different ways you can provide feedback. You can complete an online form that guides you through the key recommendations - you don't need to of read the Plan to do this. Or you can provide more detailed feedback and upload a document.
